Community Call – This Thursday Night

In case you weren’t aware, the next New Media Cincinnati Second Saturday will be on July 11, 2009 from 4-7 PM at The Pub in Rookwood. Please contact me if you haven’t already and want to receive an e-mail invitation, once it’s available. Registration details will also be posted here soon.

Let’s do this community planning conference call thing again.   The call will take place this Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 8 PM EDT, via TalkShoe.com. If you haven’t used TalkShoe before, I encourage you to check it out. Direct link to New Media Cincinnati Community Call.  In addition to calling in via phone, they have a web client that enables  chat.  I’ll use that to help moderate the call.  The call will be recorded and posted at the New Media Cincinnati website.  Here are some Step-by-Step instructions for setting up.

Since this is our third time doing this as a community, I expect it might still be a little rough.

The purpose of this Thursday’s conference call is twofold:

  1. Discuss/review/feedback on the June Second Saturday event
  2. Discuss/plan the July Second Saturday event

As with last month, we should live-tweet the phone call on Thursday, especially for those folks who are unable to make it.  Here’s the Tweetchat room we’ll be using:

Simply log-in with your Twitter account and you’re good to go! Alternatively, you can just use the #newmediacincy hashtag.

Local Musicians! Opportunity for Exposure

Adding local music in post-production to the audio has been widely received. A couple of artists have already given me permission to play their stuff, and I may use that for tomorrow.

If you are a local musician or band interested in getting some exposure for your music, please contact me via my podcast e-mail address: daniel AT journeyinsidemymind DOT com with links where I could download your music, giving me permission to play it here and on that podcast, etc. Alternatively, you can use the Contact page for the Journey Inside My Mind program.

Final Thoughts

I love this community.  I so enjoy getting to know others who are passionate about this stuff and helping others to understand it better.  Together we’re spreading the word that Cincinnati is a social media town!

Catch you online, on the phone this Thursday, and in-person on the 11th!
